The first official Ardenfall Demo patch has come! This patch is essentially pure fixes, with a few quality of life additions here and there, and some balance tweaks to fix glaring issues. The next patch will most likely contain many more balance changes, and of course more fixes!

Major Fixes:

  • Fixed floating monsters in Living Tunnels
  • Fixed save menu manual saving causing mouselook to enable
  • Fixed trade menu causing mouselook to enable
  • Fixed mage robes + basket + other items tooltips breaking
  • Fixed certain npc spawners not saving state
  • Fixed being damaged sometimes resulting in weapon being softlocked
  • Fixed spell hand vfx not being removed when entering water
  • Fixed Karuntak floating after leaping
  • Fixed Niko not attacking
  • Fixed typing in save menu sometimes exiting the menu
  • Fixed inventory contents flipping sometimes
  • Fixed softlocks in various quests
  • Fixed night time lasting too long

Fixes:

  • Fixed sun “snapping” at noon
  • Fixed finger animations on humanoids
  • Fixed Kawamoku’s flying into the heavens
  • Fixed flinch animation being too extreme
  • Fixed item events not occurring for spell hand vfx
  • Removed constant fireball sound
  • Made health, mana, stamina potions only fill to the max health of the casting time
  • Fixed save screenshot being cropped incorrectly
  • Fixed spell merchant buying spells at reduced prices
  • Fixed innkeeper not selling drinks
  • Fixed interaction point in The Forge
  • Increased scale of some sliders
  • Added quest markers to all quests
  • Added far quest markers to final steps of yanaki quest
  • Fixed journals in various quests
  • Fixed Lone Healer not having dialog
  • Fixed rings found in containers not being enchanted
  • Fixed manual save triggering multiple saves
  • Fixed collisions and seams in Abandoned Mines
  • Removed incorrect items from Abandoned Mines
  • Fixed incorrect key for quicksave in shortcut lists
  • Fixed footstep sounds not playing with most weapons
  • Fixed material sound not being applied to several tunnel pieces

Balance Changes:

  • Cut Hollowhorn health in half
  • Balanced enemy spawn rates
  • Increased attack speed on niko’s shot
  • Added new spells to mage set
  • Made arrows guaranteed to be re-picked up
  • Increased chance for mage robes and lockpicks to appear in containers
  • Increased chance for spell slates to appear in merchant trades
